British Shorthairs were one of the first cats that I bred. I specialised in the 
silver series and bred many titled cats.
The British Shorthair is now officially the most popular cat in the Cat Fancy, taking the Persian off the top spot. The British is easy going and very easy to groom, which has helped its popularity. The British are playful and take life in their stride and do appear to make the ideal family pet. They can be reserved when they need to be, or if a little unsure, so can be typically British. This just means that they do not go charging in where another cats should fear to tread.
